Trainees can apply for graduate student research or travel awards.\u00a0Each award is capped at $1500 and is made in support of Ph.D. research in\u00a0interdisciplinary research topics that span <em>both<\/em> Biogeoscience <em>and<\/em> Environmental Health in urban systems or for\u00a0trainees to\u00a0travel\u00a0to a meeting or conference to present their work within the year.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The application deadline is February 15, 2019\u00a0at 5 pm.\u00a0 Please send your proposal and CV as one PDF\u00a0to Laura Schifman (<\/em><\/strong><strong><em><a data-cke-saved-href=\"mailto:schifman@bu.edu\" href=\"mailto:schifman@bu.edu\">schifman@bu.edu<\/a><\/em><\/strong><strong><em>) with \u201cURBAN\u00a0Trainee Award 2019\u201d as the subject of your email.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A small faculty committee will evaluate the proposals and we will announce award decisions by March 1<sup>st<\/sup>. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>Required Format for One-Page Proposal and CV<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your proposal is limited to one-page (single space in 12-point\u00a0Times\u00a0font; one page includes references cited).<\/li>\n<li>In your proposal please describe: (1) the novelty and importance of the proposed research (or work you will present at a conference) and how it advances the field of\u00a0Urban Biogeoscience\u00a0and Environmental Health and (2) how the funding will help you achieve your research goals.<\/li>\n<li>There is no page limit for your CV.<\/li>\n<li>Your proposal and CV should be sent together as one PDF.<\/li>\n<li>Please use this file name format: \u201cLast Name_2019-URBAN-Trainee-Award.pdf\u201d (e.g., Schifman_2019-URBAN-Trainee-Award.pdf)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please reach out if you have any questions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019re excited to announce a funding opportunity for all BU URBAN Trainees.
