Registration for Advanced Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Workshops<\/span><\/h4>\n

Doctoral degree candidates and Post-doctoral researchers\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

October\/November 2018 (Fall Session)<\/span><\/h4>\n

ADVANCED RCR TRAINING<\/strong><\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0Doctoral candidates and post-doctoral researchers who have an RCR compliance requirement due to funding by an NIH training grant or an NSF research grant must complete the online Introductory\u00a0(Step 1)<\/strong>\u00a0& Intermediate\u00a0(Step 2)<\/strong>\u00a0RCR training modules before participating in the four Advanced RCR live workshops. Grant funded individuals, meanwhile, are required to complete\u00a0Steps 1\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a02<\/strong>\u00a0within 30 days of the start of funding and to complete all four live, advanced RCR workshops within two years. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All other doctoral and post-doctoral researchers who will be taking advanced RCR training, including those who are meeting a departmental mandate, must also complete\u00a0Steps 1<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a02<\/strong>\u00a0before registering for the four workshops. Doctoral students should complete all four workshops by the end of their fourth year. Postdoctoral researchers are recommended to complete\u00a0Steps 1<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a02<\/strong>\u00a0as early as possible and commence the four RCR workshops in the semester in which online preparation is completed. We recommend completion of the four workshops at the rate of at least one per semester.<\/span><\/p>\n

Step 1: Introductory RCR Principles<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Log in to your\u00a0<\/span>Blackboard<\/span><\/a>\u00a0Learn homepage<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Click on the second tab: All Blackboard Learn Courses<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. On the left hand side of the All Blackboard Learn Courses Page search for “RCR”<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Select Introductory Responsible\u00a0Conduct of Research (RCR) (Ongoing) from the list and follow directions<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Step 2: Intermediate RCR Principles<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Sign up for a\u00a0<\/span>CITI Account<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n
    2. Affiliate with Boston University (please note that if you affiliate with Boston University Medical Campus through CITI, you will not be able to access the RCR course).<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Click \u201cAdd a Course or Update Learner Groups\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. Select \u201cResponsible Conduct of Research (RCR Courses)\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n
    5. Select \u201cBU RCR Program for Doctoral candidates and Post-Docs: All Audiences\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
