{"id":937,"date":"2018-03-27T14:21:17","date_gmt":"2018-03-27T18:21:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/urban\/?page_id=937"},"modified":"2020-03-24T11:42:32","modified_gmt":"2020-03-24T15:42:32","slug":"rsvp-sci-comm","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/urban\/rsvp-sci-comm\/","title":{"rendered":"Science Communication Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BU URBAN is excited to offer our annual Science Communication Workshop, &#8220;Accelerating Climate Solutions,&#8221; in partnership with Sarah Finnie Robinson, a Senior Fellow at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ise\/\">BU Institute of Sustainable Energy<\/a> and Founding Director of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.the51percent.io\/\">the 51% Percent Project<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Details: April 1, 2020, 10:00am &#8211; 12:00pm on zoom (link will be released to registrants)<\/p>\n<p>Workshop participants will<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0gain hands-on experience translating an important but not easily accessible research-based document into compelling communications. Working in small, interdisciplinary teams, participants will become familiar with the document; learn about various communication strategies, including how to select your audience and how to frame your message; choose a communication medium\/platform; and start creating a product.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Before the workshop, attendees will review a toolkit of best practices and a video presentation as well as the\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">research-based document<\/span>. Reviewing these materials before the workshop is <strong>required<\/strong> in order to participate.
