However, current methods are difficult to apply at the small spatial scales relevant to cities. High-resolution numerical models offer the potential to address this limitation, but their use in informing policy relies on an understanding of their uncertainty. Andrew partnered with the <span>Uncertainty Quantification and Statistical Analysis<\/span> group at NASA\u2019s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) with the goal of developing statistical methods to quantify the uncertainties associated with such models. He integrated statistical and computational methods to combine ecological models with observational data in order to produce improved carbon estimates.
