Joey Zeldin is currently a Senior Operations Intern at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.\u00a0There, he splits his time between the\u00a0Lean Six Sigma<\/a> team, where he works on data hygiene and analysis, and the Vehicle Maintenance team, where he is<\/span>\u00a0modernizing the department\u2019s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for rail and bus facilities in the greater Boston area.<\/p>\n

Before coming to Boston to attend Boston University as an MSUA student, Joey served as a Public Policy and Impact Associate at the Community Development Bankers Association (CDBA)<\/a>, a subsidiary of Partners for the Common Good<\/a>\u00a0loan fund. Here, Joey advocated for the Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI)<\/a> Fund, as well as community banking and economic justice policies to members of Congress and two presidential administrations. His biggest accomplishment was organizing a day of advocacy for community bankers<\/a>, allowing them to advocate for their banks and build key relationships with their members of Congress. He is very passionate about banking as a tool for low-income communities to build economic power, and encourages banking with local community banks<\/a>. Prior to this role, he held internships with three different U.S. Senators. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Mary Washington<\/a> in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where he took on a variety of exciting roles, including President of the Student Government Association and Orientation Coordinator for the university\u2019s New Student Programs department.<\/p>\n

Joey has lived in Boston since December 2025, so you can always find him exploring new places (and new coffee shops!), as well as going for runs around the Esplanade and Emerald Necklace. He also enjoys gaming, traveling, karaoke, and spending too much time reading too many random Wikipedia articles. Joey\u2019s most recent endeavor was a month-long backpacking trip to Europe, stopping in a variety of historic cities \u2014 his favorites were Prague and Nice.<\/p>\n
