In this role, he works on the IOC\u2019s branding, messaging, and design strategies, and on outreach; he also manages events and supervises student staff.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to joining the IOC, Ting was a graduate of Boston University\u2019s College of Arts &amp; Sciences,\u00a0<em>magna cum laude<\/em>, majoring in Political Science and History.<span> Born in China, raised in Boston, and an alumnus of the Boston Public School system, he loves the city&#8217;s unique and rich history, which he has continually called home. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/chinatownmainstreet.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chinatown Main Street<\/a>, a Boston quasi-governmental nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting<\/span><span>\u00a0and promoting Boston Chinatown\u2019s commercial and residential interests. Previously, he was a lead staffer at Chinatown Main Street, overhauling the organization\u2019s website, managing student interns, and expanding outreach\u2014on social media and on the ground\u2014to residents and visitors alike. He was also a communications intern under MA State Senator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.senatoreldridge.com\/interns\">Jamie Eldridge<\/a>. While an undergraduate student at BU, he served two terms as Director of Communications in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.busgov.org\/\">Student Government<\/a>, Editor-in-Chief of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/buplr.org\/\">Pre-Law Review<\/a>, Inaugural Digital Director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irreview.org\/\">International Relations Review<\/a>, and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/csc\/bu-votes\/\">Research Assistant<\/a> with BU Votes when it first began.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ting likes reading the latest news headlines, scientific periodicals, and manga in his free time. He also enjoys photography, working out, playing video games, collecting vinyl records, reading, layout designing, and spending time with his Ragdoll cat, Mimi, and his British Longhair, Momo.
