{"id":31,"date":"2017-09-29T15:13:40","date_gmt":"2017-09-29T19:13:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/uea\/?p=31"},"modified":"2018-01-25T15:28:23","modified_gmt":"2018-01-25T20:28:23","slug":"eds-2-october-5th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/uea\/2017\/09\/29\/eds-2-october-5th\/","title":{"rendered":"October 5th, 2017: EDS 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday, October 5th, the UEA will be holding its second Economic Discussion Series event of the 2017 fall semester in KCB 106 at 7:00 PM.\u00a0 This week, we&#8217;ll explain and discuss a\u00a0recent paper by BU&#8217;s very own Professor Johannes Schmieder: &#8220;<em>The Rise of Domestic Outsourcing and the Evolution of the German Wage Structure<\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>The article has been very well received (it was published in the <em>Quarterly Journal of Economics<\/em> earlier this year), and it&#8217;s a must-read for anyone interested in research geared towards labor economics and the changing nature of the most powerful economy in the European Union.<\/p>\n<p>Next week on October 12th, Professor Schmieder himself will give a special guest lecture before the UEA focusing on his research connected to this paper.
