Colleen Twomey

Hi Everyone! My name is Colleen Twomey and I am from Newburyport, Massachusetts. I am a senior majoring in Mechanical engineering with a concentration in Business innovation and technology. I joined SME to connect with fellow classmates with similar interests and to seek out opportunities to become more involved in the engineering world of campus, outside of classes. I’ve been a ME 357 LA for a year now and have always had an interest in 3D modeling! I really enjoyed the lab section for ME 358 (Manufacturing) which prompted me to become more involved in SME to learn more skills and attend events provided by the organization. This past summer I was a remote sustainability innovation intern for The Born Global Foundation, researching ways to use sequestered carbon dioxide into different building materials such as concrete and learning about biomimicry methodology! In my free time, I love playing the piano, hanging out with friends, and picking up a few waitress shifts here and there!
