An inclusive classroom is one where all the differences students bring are represented in the curriculum. Among these are learning differences, which add another challenge to the efforts of rethinking our curriculums, addressing the inequality between different groups, and building more inclusive classrooms. The challenge is to articulate content in a way that ensures we are facilitating learning for all our students.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Our Annual Conference provides a forum for educators from the United States and abroad.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The purpose of this conference is:<\/span><\/h4>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To learn from the experts in the field of disability studies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To rid ourselves of stereotypes by gaining accurate knowledge of different groups and people with learning differences.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To share knowledge about teaching our students with learning differences, focusing on how we have developed inclusive language curriculums.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To build strong channels of communication between instructors, experts from the Office of Disabilities, and our students.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To ensure Boston University continues to be a leader in the teaching community since the event is open to all.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Format and Timeline<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The 5th Second-Language Learning and Disabilities Conference will be presented in-person and remotely across three consecutive days, March 16th-18th, 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Day 1 &#8211; Thursday, March 16th, 2023. 3-6 PM (In person)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Workshop for Teachers &#8211; <span class=\"S1PPyQ\">Designing an Accessible Classroom<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Day 2 &#8211; Friday, March 17th, 2023. 4-7:30 PM (In person)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Screening of Movie \u201cXmile\u201d Followed by a Conversation with Spanish Filmmaker Miguel \u00c1ngel Font Bisier.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"S1PPyQ\">Awards Ceremony for the Best Inclusive Short Movie and Screening of the three Best Short Movies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Day 3 &#8211; Saturday, March 18th, 2023, 9:00 AM-3:15 PM (EST) Zoom Event<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Second-Language Learning and Disabilities Conference<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Boston University strives to be accessible, inclusive and diverse in our facilities, programming, and academic offerings.
