Welcome to the Second-Language Learning & Disabilities Conference Website!
The Second-Language Learning Disabilities Conference is a project on inclusive classrooms. An inclusive classroom is one where all the differences students bring are represented in the curriculum. Among these are learning differences, which add another challenge to the efforts of rethinking our curriculums, addressing the inequality between different groups, and building more inclusive classrooms. The challenge is to articulate content in a way that ensures we are facilitating learning for all our students.
Our Annual Conference provides a forum for educators from the United States and abroad.
The purpose of this conference is:
- To learn from the experts in the field of disability studies.
- To rid ourselves of stereotypes by gaining accurate knowledge of different groups and people with learning differences.
- To share knowledge about teaching our students with learning differences, focusing on how we have developed inclusive language curriculums.
- To build strong channels of communication between instructors, experts from the Office of Disabilities, and our students.
- To ensure Boston University continues to be a leader in the teaching community since the event is open to all.
