{"id":3377,"date":"2023-07-13T13:12:15","date_gmt":"2023-07-13T17:12:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sisrenewal\/?p=3377"},"modified":"2023-09-19T16:17:05","modified_gmt":"2023-09-19T20:17:05","slug":"scope-of-each-iam-release","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sisrenewal\/2023\/07\/13\/scope-of-each-iam-release\/","title":{"rendered":"Scope of each IAM Release"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sisrenewal\/companion_projects\/iam\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The IAM project<\/a> has multiple releases, each focusing on a different scope to better represent and serve students here at BU:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Phase 1 is currently <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sisrenewal\/2022\/07\/21\/terrier-card-display-name-update\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">live<\/a>!<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This phase allows students to update their display names on their TerrierCards to reflect their display names in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/phpbin\/change-entry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BU Directory.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Created a mainframe-independent database of identities and personal information<\/li>\n<li>Created an administrative portal for managing identities<\/li>\n<li>Builds the infrastructure to support this and future phases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Phase 2, Release 1 focuses on modernizing our identity management system is live!<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>BU Login and Web Account creation moved from the mainframe to our new identity and access management system, SailPoint.<\/span><span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Implementation of Password Management, including self-service password reset is <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sisrenewal\/2023\/09\/19\/new-for-bu-identity-access-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">available<\/a>.<\/span><span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Establishment of \u2018birthright\u2019 privileges (email, wireless access, etc.) now happen in SailPoint.<\/span><span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Redesign of the self-service portal for updating the BU Online Directory and updating a user\u2019s personal information; like alternate contact info, personal email and gender attributes, is now available.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The IAM project has multiple releases, each focusing on a different scope to better represent and serve students here at BU: Phase 1 is currently live!
