This resource is for staff across schools and colleges to see student application and related data.<\/p>\n<p style=\"border-top: 10px solid #669999; text-align: right; margin-block-end: 0px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sis-training\/mybu-student-glossary\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" title=\"Glossary\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/sis-training\/files\/2025\/06\/Glossary-icon.png\" alt=\"Glossary Icon - Click here for MyBU Student Glossary.\" width=\"55px\" height=\"55px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"margin-block-start: 0px;\">Introduction<\/h4>\n<p>The <strong>Admissions<\/strong> tab in the Student Services Center provides historical information regarding the student\u2019s application process, including Application Data, their Applicant Progression stages, External Education, and Test Summary. <\/p>\n<p>Student Services Center (SSC) consolidates student data from various areas of MyBU Student in one page. Please refer to the Introduction to Student Services Center resource for a general overview, or if detailed instructions are needed for one of the other tabs, please refer to that resource: Student Center, General Info, Transfer Credit, Academics, and Financial Aid.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding: 10px; margin: 20px 20px 20px 20px; line-height: 1.2; border: 1px solid black;\">\u26a0\ufe0e Screen options and menus will vary by user; please note that displays may differ for you based on access that has been granted. All screens shown are for training purposes only.<\/p>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Navigation & Application Data<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Navigate to Student Services Center:\n<ol type=\"a\" style=\"margin-left: 1rem;\">\n<li>From the <strong>Dashboard left menu<\/strong>, scroll to <strong>Student Services Center<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>From the <strong>Full Site homepage<\/strong>, navigate to: <strong>Compass at top right of Nav Bar > Menu > Campus Community > Student Services Center<\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>To find a student, enter the student\u2019s available data in the Find an Existing Value window that displays, and select <strong>Search<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The student\u2019s Service Center page will open. Click the <strong>Admissions<\/strong> tab to view available data, based on security.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h5>CAREER\/APPLICATION NBR\/PROGRAM<\/h5>\n<p>Data related to the student\u2019s application is displayed at the top of the Admissions tab page.<\/p>\n<p>A hierarchical view of past applications displays as a menu on the <strong>left<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the example below, the student had one application, application Number 00017144, for the Undergraduate Career, UCOM Academic Program. <\/li>\n<li>Students with multiple applications will have multiple entries available for selection on the left.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_46.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_46-636x360.png\" alt=\"The Application Data section at the top of the Admissions tab, displaying a hierarchical view of past applications on the left, and data on the right related to the Academic Program selected from the left-side navigation.\" width=\"636\" height=\"360\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-8247\"  style=\"border: 2px solid black;\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_46-636x360.png 636w, https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_46-1024x579.png 1024w, https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_46-768x435.png 768w, https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_46-1536x869.png 1536w, https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_46-2048x1159.png 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 636px) 100vw, 636px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Selecting the appropriate <strong>Academic Program<\/strong> from the left-side hierarchical view triggers data regarding that application to display in a box on the right (as shown above). See image Data that displays includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Application Nbr: Each application is assigned a number.<\/li>\n<li>Program Nbr: Starts at 0 and is incremented with each additional Academic Program with an application.<\/li>\n<li>Program Status: The Status is the step in which the student exists in the admissions process as of the date reflected. Common Statuses include:\n<ul style=\"margin-left: 1rem;\">\n<li>Applicant: Application received. <\/li>\n<li>Admitted: Admitted, but has not yet paid deposit.<\/li>\n<li>Prematric: Formerly known as mutual acceptance; deposit has been paid (pre-matriculation).<\/li>\n<li>Active: Matriculation has occurred, causing the student to be \u2018Active.\u2019 Matriculation is the process that officially creates the student\u2019s academic record.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Program: The Academic Program (i.e., school\/college) attached to the record on the effective date listed beside the Program Status.<\/li>\n<li>Plan: The Academic Plan (i.e., major) attached to the record on the effective date listed beside the Program Status.<\/li>\n<li>Sub-Plan: When a student is also in a Sub-Plan, it will display here as well.<\/li>\n<li>Last School Attended\/City\/State\/Graduation Date: Lists the last university or school the student attended, location, and graduation date, if it exists.<\/li>\n<li>Financial Aid Interest: Lists whether the application data notes an interest in financial aid consideration.<\/li>\n<li>Housing Interest: Lists whether the application data notes an interest in commuter or on-campus housing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Clicking the<strong> Edit Application Data<\/strong> button in this section provides access to the \u2018Maintain Applications\u2019 page, for those with security permissions.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Applicant Progression<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>The Applicant Progression section shows additional information about the student\u2019s application stages. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Institution: Boston University.<\/li>\n<li>Admit Term: The latest requested admit term.<\/li>\n<li>Program Status\/Action\/Reason: These three fields go together to provide additional granularity regarding a student\u2019s status. For example, as the status progresses, events will be added to the record, such as:\n<ul>\n<li>When they receive a \u2018Program Action\u2019 &#038; \u2018Reason\u2019 of Matriculation, their \u2018Program Status\u2019 becomes \u2018Active\u2019.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_47.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_47.png\" alt=\"Example Applicant Progression section on the Admissions tab.\" width=\"580\" height=\"220\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8248\"  style=\"border: 2px solid black;\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">External Education<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>The External Education section references any institution other than Boston University, including high schools, colleges, and universities. This section lists transcript status, credits attempted and completed and grade point average at those institutions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_115.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_115.png\" alt=\"The External Education section of the Academics tab.\" width=\"431\" height=\"390\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8246\"  style=\"border: 2px solid black;\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Clicking the <strong>Edit Education Data<\/strong> button (shown above) opens the External Academic Summary page, where external institutions (i.e., high schools, other universities) can be applied to a student\u2019s record. Available only to those with security permissions.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Test Summary<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>The Test Results box in the Test Summary section provides details about specific tests including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Test ID: The type of test (i.e., AP, IB).<\/li>\n<li>Test Component: The type of test affiliated with the Test ID. (i.e., BY-Biology; ELC-English Literature &#038; Composition).<\/li>\n<li>Test Score\/Letter Score: The score earned on the test.<\/li>\n<li>Percentile: The student\u2019s percentile in comparison to others who have taken the exam, when provided.<\/li>\n<li>Test Date: The date the test was taken and used to determine if the \u2018newest\u2019 test results are being used.<\/li>\n<li>Academic Level: The Academic Level at the time the test was taken.<\/li>\n<li>Data Source: Where the Test Data originated.<\/li>\n<li>Date Loaded: The date the test scores were uploaded into MyBU Student.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_49.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_49.png\" alt=\"The Test Results section displayed in the Test Summary section of the Admissions tab.\" width=\"510\" height=\"155\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8249\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Clicking the <strong>Edit Student Tests<\/strong> button (shown above) opens the Academic Test Results page, where information about test scores can be added to the student\u2019s record.
