This resource is for staff across schools and colleges to see student data such as classes, hold(s), checklists, milestones, enrollment dates, advisors, and contact information. <\/p>\n<p style=\"border-top: 10px solid #669999; text-align: right; margin-block-end: 0px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sis-training\/mybu-student-glossary\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" title=\"Glossary\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/sis-training\/files\/2025\/06\/Glossary-icon.png\" alt=\"Glossary Icon - Click here for MyBU Student Glossary.\" width=\"55px\" height=\"55px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"margin-block-start: 0px;\">Introduction<\/h4>\n<p>The <strong>Student Center<\/strong> tab in the Student Services Center provides information regarding classes, holds (Service Indicators), checklists\/to-do\u2019s, milestones, enrollment dates, advisor(s), contact information, and more. The types of student data viewable will be dependent on security access; some information included here may reflect access for roles with higher level permissions in this area.<\/p>\n<p>Student Services Center (SSC) consolidates student data from various areas of MyBU Student in one page. Please refer to the Introduction to Student Services Center resource for a general overview, or if detailed instructions are needed for one of the other tabs, please refer to that resource: General Info, Admissions, Transfer Credit, Academics, and Financial Aid.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding: 10px; margin: 20px 20px 20px 20px; line-height: 1.2; border: 1px solid black;\">\u26a0\ufe0e Screen options and menus will vary by user; please note that displays may differ for you based on access that has been granted. All screens shown are for training purposes only.<\/p>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Navigation<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Navigate to Student Services Center:\n<ol type=\"a\" style=\"margin-left: 1rem;\">\n<li>From the <strong>Dashboard left menu<\/strong>, scroll to <strong>Student Services Center<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>From the <strong>Full Site homepage<\/strong>, navigate to: <strong>Compass at top right of Nav Bar > Menu > Campus Community > Student Services Center<\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>To find a student, enter the student\u2019s available data in the Find an Existing Value window that displays, and select <strong>Search<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The student\u2019s Service Center page will open. Click the <strong>Student Center<\/strong> tab to view available data, based on security.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Student Center tab is divided into three display sections: <strong>Academics, Personal Information<\/strong>, and <strong>Right-Side Section<\/strong>. TBA is populated when data is not present. <strong>TIP!<\/strong> One Class Nbr\/Section can have multiple Meeting Patterns, resulting in multiple Days, Times, Rooms, and Instructors.<\/li>\n<li>Room: When room assignments exist, they are populated here. TBA is populated when data is not present.<\/li>\n<li>Instructor: When instructor assignments exist, they are populated here. To be Announced is populated when data is not present.<\/li>\n<li>Start\/End Date: The start and end dates of the class are populated here when they exist. <strong>TIP!<\/strong> The Start\/End Date may be consistent with Term Begin and End Dates, or may vary in the case of Dynamically Dated classes. Refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/reg\/calendars\/semester\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Office of the University Registrar website<\/a> for important dates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Weekly Calendar View: Displays courses within a chart for the days of the week.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_12.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_12-429x636.png\" alt=\"Example of the My Class Schedule Weekly Calendar View.\" width=\"429\" height=\"636\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-8188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_12-429x636.png 429w, https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_12.png 688w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 429px) 100vw, 429px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One week at a time is populated based on selecting start dates\/times. Select <strong>Previous Week<\/strong> and <strong>Next Week<\/strong> to move forwards and backwards one week at a time.<\/li>\n<li>Check desired configuration for Display Options at the bottom of the page. Then select <strong>Refresh Calendar<\/strong> to see those options.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>SHOPPING CART<\/h5>\n<p>Students add classes to their Shopping Carts when planning their schedules and preparing to enroll in classes.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A student is NOT enrolled in classes that exist in their Shopping Cart. <\/li>\n<li>The Shopping Cart does NOT \u201chold\u201d a seat in the class for the student.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Selecting the <strong>Shopping Cart<\/strong> link in the upper left menu allows for the view of the Shopping Cart by term and comparison to the student\u2019s enrolled classes.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In the Enrollment Shopping Cart window that opens, select a <strong>term<\/strong> button, then click <strong>Continue<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The Shopping Cart page opens for the selected term.\n<ul>\n<li>Refer to the \u201cTerm Shopping Cart\u201d section at the top of the page to see the classes in the Shopping Cart for the selected term.<\/li>\n<li>Refer to the \u201cMy Term Class Schedule\u201d section at the bottom of the page to see the classes in which a student is enrolled for the selected term. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_112.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_112-636x532.png\" alt=\"Academics section Shopping Cart page populated for a selected term. Displays the shopping cart at the top of the page, and a list of enrolled classes for the same term at the bottom of the page.\" width=\"636\" height=\"532\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-8184\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_112-636x532.png 636w, https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_112-768x643.png 768w, https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_112.png 859w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 636px) 100vw, 636px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sis-training\/shopping-cart\/\">Shopping Cart resource<\/a> for more information. <\/p>\n<h5>MY PLANNER<\/h5>\n<p>This function is not being used at this time.<\/p>\n<h5>THIS WEEK\u2019S SCHEDULE\/WEEKLY SCHEDULE LINK<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>This Week\u2019s Schedule in the Academics section provides a high-level view of a student\u2019s current schedule.<\/li>\n<li>Clicking the <strong>Weekly Schedule<\/strong> link at the bottom of the Academics section provides the same view as the Weekly Calendar View option under the \u201cMy Class Schedule\u201d link, as described above.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Other Academic Information Drop-Down<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>The Other Academic Information drop-down allows for access to additional functionality by selecting an <strong>information type<\/strong> from the drop-down and then clicking the <strong>small double arrows<\/strong> to the right. <\/p>\n<p>The available selections are determined by security access.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_14.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_14.png\" alt=\"The Other Academic Information drop down menu in the Academics section.\" width=\"263\" height=\"257\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8189\" style=\"border: 2px solid black;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h5>ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS<\/h5>\n<p>Generates a view of the Degree Progress Report. To understand the various elements of the DPR, refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sis-training\/advisors-degree-progress\/\">Advising Degree Progress<\/a> resource. This information also displays how the requirements will show for students.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_15.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/sis-training\/files\/2026\/06\/ssc_15-587x636.png\" alt=\"The My Academic Requirements page generated by clicking the link in the Other Academic Information drop down. Refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sis-training\/advisee-student-lookup-and-student-details-processes\/\">Advisee &#038; Student Lookup and Student Details Processes<\/a> resource for more information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Assignments<\/strong> function is not being used at this time and displays a message that there is no information for the transaction requested. The Status must be Posted in order for the credits to display in the Degree Requirements Reports. Three different types of credit will display, if available: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Course Credit: BU Credit awarded for qualified classes completed successfully at non-BU institutions.<\/li>\n<li>Test Credit: BU credit awarded for exams completed successfully, such as Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB).<\/li>\n<li>Other Credit: BU credit awarded for personal experiences. Access is determined by security permissions.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Students will not be using this view when searching for classes. Refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sis-training\/class-search\/\">Class Search<\/a> resource to learn more about the view that is utilized by students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>HOLDS<\/h5>\n<p>Any negative Service Indicators assigned to the student (i.e., those that may prevent students from taking specific actions, such as enrolling in classes) can be viewed at a glance in the Holds section.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Positive Service Indicators are not highlighted here. See the General Info Tab resource for more information.<\/p>\n<h5>TO-DO LIST<\/h5>\n<p>When \u201cTo Do\u2019s,\u201d or tasks\/compliance items, are assigned to students, they will display here. Milestones may have Levels to identify different steps within that Milestone.
