It includes processes originating from the Reporting Center folder in the left MyBU Student menu as well as how to  use the <a href=\"#query-viewer\">Query Viewer<\/a> page. <\/p>\n<p>Each report in the <a href=\"#frequently-used-reports\">Frequently Used Reports<\/a> section lists the <strong>prompts<\/strong> used for running the report and the <strong>data fields<\/strong> included in the results. This is meant to guide staff in quickly identifying what report might be helpful depending on the search criteria that\u2019s needed and\/or the information that\u2019s desired to review. <\/p>\n<p><strong>TIP! <\/strong>Try using the Ctrl+f keyboard shortcut to search this resource for a particular field.<\/p>\n<p>All queries have a unique identifier, called the Query Name. The Query Name is not meant to be a user-friendly title but a system identifier composed of keywords and abbreviations separated by underscores (for example: BU_R0010M_SR_CPP_HIST). Since the Query Name doesn&#8217;t always give a clear indication of the full description\/scope of the report, it may be helpful to add relevant queries to Favorites. Refer to the Query Viewer section below for more information about running queries and saving favorites.<\/p>\n<p>Please be sure to review the <a href=\"#support-process\">Support Process<\/a> in the Appendix of this resource if looking for a  particular report or encountering an issue.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"padding-top: 20px; margin-bottom: 20px;\">GLOSSARY &#038; QUERY REPORT LIBRARY<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>For system concepts and definitions, please refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/sis-training\/mybu-student-glossary\/\">MyBU Student Glossary<\/a> resource.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/app.powerbi.com\/groups\/me\/reports\/7067dd92-1824-4890-8219-4b241951574d\/e985db9fd8e310c47fee?ctid=d57d32cc-c121-488f-b07b-dfe705680c71&#038;experience=power-bi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Query Report Library<\/a>: this tool compiles all queries (reports) available in MyBU Student. It is meant to function as a way to search the library of reports to find the one that  satisfies a particular need. MyBU Student reports cannot be run from here, but direct  links are available to easily open to them in MyBU Student. All screens shown are for training purposes only.<\/p>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Run a Query<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><br \/>\n<a name=\"run-query\"><\/a><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log into <a href=\"https:\/\/mybustudent.bu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MyBU Student<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Upon landing on the Dashboard, scroll through the left menu and select <strong>Reporting Center<\/strong>.\n<p class=\"alert\">\u24d8<strong>  Appropriate security is required to access this folder and the reports included here may change. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A list of common queries for staff will display. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For a report description, prompts, and data fields, please skip to the <a href=\"#frequently-used-reports\">Frequently Used Staff Reports<\/a> section of this resource (this section continues to be updated).<\/li>\n<li>To run a report that is not listed in the Reporting Center folder, navigate to the <strong>Query Viewer<\/strong> page. Refer to the <a href=\"#query-viewer\">Query Viewer<\/a> section of this resource for instructions on using that page.\n<ul>\n<li>Query Viewer will only display reports that staff have been given access to.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Select desired query. A partial value can be entered or no value at all.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If a lookup is performed without entering values into the field, a window will display, listing all results.\n<ul>\n<li>Depending on the field, this could be 300+ results. To help narrow down the search, enter a value in the <strong>Search By<\/strong> field or use the <strong>Advanced Lookup<\/strong> option to enter additional criteria. This can be performed by looking up in that field or entering a known value. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Or, College values between percent symbols (%) can be used to compile students in all Academic Programs associated to that School\/College. This could also be a partial College search to get results for more than one School\/College.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u24d8 <strong>NOTE<\/strong>: If using the %College% search option, enter the needed value directly into the field without performing a lookup. Performing a lookup may cause confusion as the window will display no results. Look for the processing icon to confirm; this may be displayed in the top right corner of the page if running the report was accessed directly from the menu.<\/p>\n<p>The report will compile. <\/p>\n<h5>REVIEW REPORT ACTIONS &#038; DATA FIELDS <\/h5>\n<p>The following steps will display views from both navigation methods, directly from the left Reporting Center menu or via Query Viewer. Refer to the <a href=\"#query-viewer\">Query Viewer<\/a> section of this resource to see how to search for reports in that page. <\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-bottom:0px; margin-bottom:0px;\">Report columns, or Field Names, display the data associated to the compiled results. Each report will display different data depending on the content of the report.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be sure to scroll to the far right of the page to see all data fields that display for the selected report.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-bottom:0px; margin-bottom:0px;\">The results can be downloaded or reviewed directly in the MyBU Student page.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To download to a spreadsheet, select the <strong>Excel SpreadSheet<\/strong> or <strong>CSV Text File<\/strong> links above the compiled results. A file will then be downloaded to the desktop.\n<ul>\n<li>If using Query Viewer, the display slightly varies, but the options are still listed above the results; use the <strong>Download to Excel<\/strong> link.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The first 100 results will display on the page. If report was accessed directly from the left menu, scroll all the way to the right side of the page to quickly view how many total results have been compiled.\n<ul>\n<li>If using Query Viewer, the total will be listed in the center.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>To review all data:\n<ul>\n<li>Use the page navigator options in that far right, or center, location (<strong>arrows <>, Last\/First<\/strong> links).<\/li>\n<li>Download the report.<\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>View All<\/strong> link in the far left location above the results.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If using Query Viewer and need to run the same report but with different search criteria, click the <strong>Rerun Query<\/strong> link above the results. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h4 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Query Viewer<\/h4><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><br \/>\n<a name=\"query-viewer\"><\/a>Navigate to Query Viewer to search for and run reports that are not listed in the Reporting Center folder. Reports that are in the folder can still be run via Query Viewer. Click <strong>Search<\/strong>.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Query results matching the search values will be listed. Commonly used options to compile the report include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Run to HTML<\/strong>: click to run report directly in the web browser.
