Additionally, we have Cafecitos on important issues that affect Latin America.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Social<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Familia is a major part of who we are and we take every opportunity to get to know every member and to build a strong community\u00a0on campus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Study Nights<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>At\u00a0SHPE-BostonU, we have members who have taken almost every computer science, STEM and engineering classes BU\u00a0as to offer! If you are struggling with any class feel free to reach out to an older member at a study night and get the help you need.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Volunteering<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Part of our mission statement\u00a0is to empower the Hispanic\u00a0community. Quincy and Jamaica\u00a0Plains are two communities nearby that we help out in, along\u00a0with volunteering for organizations\u00a0throughout Boston. La familia had the opportunity to receive feedback on their individual resumes from our guests. This is the country&#8217;s largest gathering of Hispanic STEM students and professionals, where they obtain opportunities to advance their professional careers through workshops and a 2-day career fair.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/shpe\/files\/2023\/04\/image7-636x477.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"636\" height=\"477\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1603 aligncenter\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mechanical Workshop with EPIC :<\/strong>\u00a0 Our members had the opportunity to receive a tour of the EPIC facility and learn about the different tools it has to offer. This event provided our members the opportunity to network with companies such as Moderna and P&amp;G. Our members were able to learn about ways to better budget money and ways to be successful at saving money.
