Here\u2019s what it looks like trying to see a book about India and a few other places from around 7000 miles away. On the desk, Kathleen Frydl\u2019s Drug Wars in America<\/em> and Heidi Tinsman\u2019s Buying into the Regime<\/em>; on the desktop a lot of notes collected, and some writing on poppy politics in the late 1950s. Somewhere on the shelf are ten little clay figurines of India\u2019s nationalist heroes; to left is some Thai basil from the garden in lieu of a bouquet. There\u2019s a book to be seen in here somewhere.<\/span><\/p>\n
