Back in the Soviet Union, Yuri was working in the field of electrical engineering. He is an author of 100 patents and a large number of scholarly articles. From his youth he had a passion for outdoor adventure, and winter swimming was one of his passions.<br \/>\nYuri was fortunate to meet some great Leningrad underground artists and collected their paintings, drawings and sketches, many of which were on display at art exhibitions.<br \/>\nHe came to the US in 1998 and became very much interested in the archival research with Massachusetts Historical Society.
