They are governed by State and Federal Laws as well as University policies.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">BU Paid Family &amp; Medical Leave Law Policy<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/policies\/bu-paid-family-and-medical-leave-law-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Boston University Paid Family and Medical Leave Law Policy<\/a> (\u201cBU PFMLL Policy\u201d) describes the leave benefits for which Boston University employees and former employees are eligible pursuant to the Massachusetts Family and Medical Leave Law.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>These are policies for all Boston University employees but do not apply to BUMG providers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Applying for Leaves<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Sedgwick is the 3rd party Leaves Administrator for Boston University: <a href=\"https:\/\/shib.bu.edu\/idp\/profile\/SAML2\/Unsolicited\/SSO?providerId=https:\/\/login.mysedgwick.com\/sso\/saml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">mySedgwick portal<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>The mySedgwick portal allows faculty to submit a leaves claim electronically, check the status of their application, and chat with their claim examiner online.<\/li>\n<li>Department leaders will receive reports on the status of all employees on a leave.<\/li>\n<li>Employees can call Sedgwick to report a claim over the phone using interactive voice response technology.<\/li>\n<li>Employees can submit leave applications up to 60 days in advance of an anticipated leave.<\/li>\n<li>You can access a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/hr\/documents\/Employee_Flowchart.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">process flowchart<\/a> to better understand the leave application process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul><\/ul>\n<ul><\/ul>\n<ul><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Medical campus faculty that are not part of the BUMG should follow BU HR leaves policies.
