Maps
RAMPS has completed its pilot survey, having mapped approximately 6.5 degrees2 in fields centered at Galactic longitudes l=10˚, 23˚, 24˚, 28˚, 29˚, 30˚, 31˚, 38˚, 45˚, and 47˚. Shown below are maps of the NH3(1,1) integrated intensity and 1st moment, NH3(2,2) integrated intensity, NH3 rotational temperature, NH3 column density, NH3(1,1) main line optical depth, NH3 line width, velocity, and filling fraction. In order to avoid spurious detections, the integrated intensity and first moment maps were masked such that we only summed over channels with intensities greater than 5σ. We used PySpecKit (Ginsburg & Mirocha 2011), a Python spectral analysis toolkit, to fit the NH3(1,1) and (2,2) spectra in order to create the maps of the NH3 rotational temperature, NH3 column density, NH3(1,1) main line optical depth, NH3 line width, velocity, and filling fraction. We only performed this analysis on spectra that had a significant detection of both NH3(1,1) and (2,2) emission.
