{"id":5,"date":"2025-04-09T07:55:46","date_gmt":"2025-04-09T11:55:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/progressinitiative\/progress-initiative\/"},"modified":"2025-07-18T15:58:38","modified_gmt":"2025-07-18T19:58:38","slug":"progress-initiative","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/progressinitiative\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>We are proud to introduce the BUSPH Initiative for PROGRESS <\/b><b>(<\/b><b>PRO<\/b><b>moting <\/b><b>G<\/b><b>ynecologic, <\/b><b>R<\/b><b>eproductive &amp; perinatal research <\/b><b>E<\/b><b>ngagement through <\/b><b>S<\/b><b>cience and <\/b><b>S<\/b><b>cholarship)! <\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>We envision that PROGRESS will assemble a diverse and interdisciplinary community of BU scholars who, together with key stakeholders and strategic partners, will improve the re\u00adsearch base to address continued threats to gynecologic, reproductive, and perinatal health.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Specifically, the PROGRESS initiative strives to foster a future in which:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>Community leaders and members of the public understand that continued cutting edge research on PROGRESS outcomes can improve population health and well-being.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>The most vulnerable communities and individuals are protected and empowered, thereby reducing existing health inequities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>A diverse cadre of scholars, leaders, activists, and policy-makers have the training, skills, knowledge, and tools needed to build healthy PROGRESS-related communities<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>Timely, reliable, and actionable information, tools, and expertise are readily accessible to strategic partners and key stakeholders nationally and internationally.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>Greater advocacy on reducing disparities in adverse PROGRESS outcomes via direct engagement with advocacy groups, such as the RESOLVE, the White Dress Project, and Sister Song is encouraged.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>The initiative will provide the BUSPH community a platform that encourages and administratively supports new efforts in this space; helps teams be more competitive for grant funding through non-traditional and traditional sources; facilitates development of new relationships with other re\u00adsearchers and key stakeholders; and promotes translation of research into real public health action through engagement, training, and communication.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">If you have any questions, please contact us at bupresto@bu.edu.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are proud to introduce the BUSPH Initiative for PROGRESS (PROmoting Gynecologic, Reproductive &amp; perinatal research Engagement through Science and Scholarship)!
