The American University of Beirut is a research University that was founded in 1866. Today is has 8,000 students. The\u00a0Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering and Architecture<\/em> and the Faculty of Health Sciences\u00a0<\/em>collaborated with BU in the development of AUB’s Humanitarian Engineering Initiative. The Initiative aims to b<\/span>uild the capacity of students “in designing solutions for social well-being and to initiate collaborative research” at AUB and internationally.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With over 1600 undergraduates, Boston University College of Engineering is home to the University’s four engineering programs (Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, and Computer Engineering). The college aims to develop\u00a0Societal Engineers <\/em>who recognize and\u00a0appreciate\u00a0 how an engineering education is a foundation for improving society.<\/p>\n

Kilachand Honors College is a living-learning community, offering an\u00a0integrated four-year curriculum\u00a0 completed alongside required major courses. The curriculum challenges students “to use the tools and methods of every academic discipline to understand global challenges and develop practical solutions.” Kilachand offers students the opportunity for students to participate in the pHERS program as part of their enrichment activities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
