Our host, Karl Wright, interviewed Greta Pais, alumnus of the Pardee School of Global Studies and the 2023 awardee of the prestigious Carole A. Chandler Student Citizenship Award. Greta talks about her journey to the field of developmental economics, her successfully defended MA paper The Association Between Regional Energy Investments and Household Electrification: Evidence from Benin and Cameroon<\/em>, and opportunities and strategies available to address global development issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

Greta is a first-generation college graduate of Boston University committed to building a career in global development to support disadvantaged populations in meeting their needs and help bridge socio-economic gaps. Greta is especially passionate about the intersection of clean energy and strengthened access to electricity in sub-Saharan Africa. She has substantive experience in research, data analysis, and implementation strategy, and she is a strong team player dedicated to evidence-based international development. In light of Italy\u2019s Presidency of the G7 in 2024, Greta was among the Global Youth Leaders selected by the Young Ambassadors Society (YAS) to develop a policy proposal for Inclusion and Equal Opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n
