Dear Reader,

Happy Halloween! While this weekend you may be in the mood for some tricks, here are four treats from Pardee Graduate students!

Our authors this week are: Isak Kulalic (MAIA 2022), Alexander Smith (MAIA 2022), and Luke DeTore (MGP 2022). Kulalic examines Russia’s influence campaigns in the Balkans and its long term impacts on the region. Smith chronicles the historic relationship between the US Government and militia groups along the US Southern Border. Finally, DeTore explores how global governance tries to influence international fisheries and fisheries management.

Here are the links to this week’s papers:

Russia’s Public Diplomacy in the Former Yugoslavia by Isak Kulalic

Wild Country: Militia Activity along the Southern Border and their Relationship with the USG by Alexander Smith

Environment vs. Economy: Influence in International Fishing Disputes by Luke DeTore

In addition to this week’s Back2School publications, we have an Op-Ed from Iris Sobchak (MAIR 2023) regarding the plight of women in Afghanistan. This piece is short and sweet, but packs all the punch of a term paper.

Here is the link to Sobchak’s Op-Ed:

Op-Ed: We Can Still Help the Women of Afghanistan by Iris Sobchak

If you have a Op-Ed you are interested in publishing about a relevant topic in IR, please email it to pardeeatlas@gmail.com.

Until next week!

Sincerely,

Eduard J. Miska
