Her interests are in\u00a0<\/span>modeling language and language learning, prosody, second language acquisition (especially of East Asian languages), bilingual language acquisition, and heritage speakers<span>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Harper Pollio-Barbee<\/b><span>\u00a0(interning from\u00a0May 20 to August 23) is a rising\u00a0junior majoring in Linguistics and Computer Science at\u00a0Brandeis University.\u00a0His interests are in<\/span><span>\u00a0phonetics, phonology, and computational linguistics.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Xiaoyi Tang<\/b>\u00a0(interning from\u00a0May 15 to\u00a0August 15) is a second-year master&#8217;s student in TESOL (<span>Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at the University of Pennsylvania<\/span>.\u00a0Her interests are\u00a0in<span>\u00a0second language learning, speech perception, phonetic variation, and sociophonetics<\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>And a warm welcome back to Aspen, Michael, and Shane!<\/span><br \/>\n<!--\n \t\n\n<li><b>Alison Plump<\/b><span>\u00a0(interning from\u00a0June 1 to August 1) is a rising\u00a0sophomore majoring in Cognitive Science and Linguistics at\u00a0the University of Virginia.\u00a0Her interests are in<\/span><span> second language acquisition (especially of French, Japanese, and American Sign Language) and computational linguistics.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to the\u00a0three students who will be joining the lab this summer: Celia Anderson (interning from\u00a0June 24 to August 2) is a rising\u00a0sophomore majoring in Linguistics and Computer Science at the University of Chicago.
