Hotel Information
PLEASE NOTE: Boston hotels and motels are somewhat pricey. However, the city is well served by the “T.” Those who are seeking less expensive accommodations might consider searching the usual hotels sites, Kayak.com, OR https://www.airbnb.com/, and so forth, for any hotels near MBTA (the “T”) subway stops. You may be able to find something within 20-30 minutes of BU. But check soon: April 5-7 appears to be a popular weekend. Feel free to contact the conference organizers if you are trying to find another person to share the cost of a hotel room with as well.
Rooms are available at three hotels:
1) Doubletree Suites by Hilton Hotel Boston (400 Soldiers Field Road, Allston, MA), which is a short taxi ride or long walk from the conference site:
http://doubletree3.hilton.com/en/hotels/massachusetts/doubletree-suites-by-hilton-hotel-boston-BOSSBDT/index.html
The conference rate is $179 plus tax per night and is guaranteed for reservations made by March 6; the group rate will be applicable for three days before and after the conference dates, for those wanting to extend their time in Boston (April 2 through April 9). You can reserve on the group website:
Or call 1-800-222-TREE (8733) and request the group rate for the Northeast Victorian Studies Association. We have a block of fifty rooms set aside at this hotel, so this will be the main conference hotel.
2. Hotel Commonwealth (500 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA), which is in easy walking distance from the conference:
