My work mainly focuses around the applications of geostatistics, remote sensing, and machine learning to address coastal engineering problems. Some of my current projects include developing an automated bathymetric reprocessing pipeline for the nation’s navigation portfolio, developing deep learning methods to identify hazardous shoals from breaking waves, and applying InSAR to measure ground surface deformation caused by aquifer pumping.<\/p>\n Main lessons\/takeaways from the ASI fellowship:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n “It was nice getting to learn some InSAR basics from Franz. I think the way he described a lot of the ASF Vertex suite was helpful, especially as I rely on the ASF data products now for some of my work. I also learned that I shouldn’t be afraid of taking part in interdisciplinary projects; those are typically the projects and ideas with the most impact and that will push the researchers to grow more.”<\/p>\n
