Study area: Marine Geology & Geophysics
Graduate Degree: Ph.D.
Bio:
My research focuses on geohazards and extreme environments, driven by a fascination with how dynamic Earth processes shape landscapes and impact society. I study phenomena such as volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and landslides, and I am excited by environments that push scientific boundaries—from deep oceans to icy worlds. When not doing research at OSU or for NASA, I enjoy outdoor recreation and baking bread, especially hiking, climbing, kayaking, and camping.
Main lessons/takeaways from the ASI fellowship:
“I learned how to connect remote sensing datasets with community-focused coastal science. I’m now applying that by developing Waves of Memory, a project that integrates ocean data and InSAR to support tsunami science in the Pacific Northwest. Bridging remote sensing with my marine geology and geophysics background is a direct outcome of what I gained through ASI.”
