Bio:

Hi, my name is Raquel and I am an environmental consultant passionate about sustainability and environmental justice. I hold a Master’s Degree in Corporate Sustainability and Innovation from Harvard Extension School and a BA in Environmental Studies from Howard University. I enjoy working on projects that create meaningful impacts for communities and the environment. I love being outdoors, traveling, riding my bike, and spending time with family. I thrive on learning new things and finding creative ways to solve problems.

Main lessons/takeaways from the ASI fellowship:

“I gained hands-on experience in coastal fieldwork, learned how to observe and assess environmental impacts, and developed a deeper understanding of intersectional research. Everyone in the program came from different backgrounds, which allowed us to share diverse perspectives and expertise. This collaboration not only enriched our discussions but also helped us approach problems more creatively and thoroughly. I also strengthened my teamwork and communication skills, learned to adapt quickly to new challenges in the field, and gained a greater appreciation for how research, policy, and community engagement intersect to address real-world environmental issues.”
