Institution while in the program: Virginia Tech

Study area: Geodesy

Graduate Degree: Ph.D.

Bio:

Postdoctoral Fellow at the Geophysical Institute of the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. Current research aims to investigate the interactions between coseismic and postseismic deformation following large subduction zone earthquakes. Received my PhD in Geophysics from Virginia Tech in Spring ’25. Dissertation research entailed measuring vertical land motions with high precision GPS observations and using numerical modeling to analyze the processes driving surface movements to investigate sea-level changes and coastal hazards. Research interests broadly aim to produce and apply geodetic data and perform computational modeling and data analyses to investigate geophysical processes related to tectonic, seismic, and coastal hazards.

Main lessons/takeaways from the ASI fellowship:

“Networking, foundations of earthquake science, and an introduction to InSAR”
