Bio:
Anna Pearson is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Earth and Space Sciences at the University of Washington. Her research focuses on crustal deformation modeling, geodesy, and tectonic hazards, especially in the Pacific Northwest. Recent work has focused on estimating vertical land motion and associated coastal hazards, as well as how surface loading impacts faults. Her long-term goal is to contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of fault hazards in vulnerable regions.
Main lessons/takeaways from the ASI fellowship:
“Basic InSAR processing, remote sensing for damage detection, agent-based modeling”
