{"id":8326,"date":"2023-02-28T12:20:29","date_gmt":"2023-02-28T16:20:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/nephtc\/?p=8326"},"modified":"2025-04-27T19:17:44","modified_gmt":"2025-04-27T23:17:44","slug":"new-jphm-article-public-health-learning-agenda-for-systems-change-toolkit-national-pilot-evaluation-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/nephtc\/2023\/02\/28\/new-jphm-article-public-health-learning-agenda-for-systems-change-toolkit-national-pilot-evaluation-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Publication: Pilot Testing the Public Health Learning Agenda Toolkit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are happy to share this blog post, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/jphmpdirect.com\/2023\/02\/27\/pilot-testing-the-public-health-learning-agenda-toolkit\/\">Pilot Testing the Public Health Learning Agenda Toolkit<\/a>,\u201d about the Public Health Learning Agenda for Systems Change Pilot Results.\u00a0 Karla Todd Barrett, NEPHTC\u2019s Senior Program Manager and Training Specialist, was one of the co-authors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This blog post highlights an article published in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/journals.lww.com\/jphmp\/pages\/default.aspx\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Journal of Public Health Management and Practice,<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">titled \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/journals.lww.com\/jphmp\/Fulltext\/2023\/03000\/Public_Health_Learning_Agenda_for_Systems_Change.12.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Public Health Learning Agenda for Systems Change Toolkit: National Pilot Evaluation Results<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Toolkit includes a conceptual framework outlining iterative steps to achieve a Learning Agenda.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The article describes how 24 diverse teams piloted the Learning Agenda Toolkit to assess usability and impact, and provide feedback for future versions of the Toolkit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An excerpt from the blog post relates the benefits of the pilot:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><span>Pilot Evaluation findings suggest the majority of pilot testers found the Learning Agenda Toolkit provided an intentional process that fostered discussions on root causes and used a step-by-step process that produced a concrete product for learning. Further, the Learning Agenda Toolkit fostered team togetherness and provided a unique systems change focus.<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Importantly, the article and blog post emphasize that while most of public health training is focused on individual competency, the field needs to also include efforts to learn collectively to get to more impactful change.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Questions?
