The de Beaumont Foundation and the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) conducted the study and have released the full data set and interactive dashboards, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phwins.org\/national\">which you can explore here<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Some key findings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Most public health workers self-identify as white (54%), as women (79%), and as age 40 or older (63%).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Nearly three in four public health employees (72%) participated in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic in some way.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Nearly one-third of state and local public health employees (32%) said they are considering leaving their organization in the next year \u2013 5% to retire and 27% for another reason.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/debeaumont.org\/phwins\/2021-findings\/\">Read the full 2021 findings here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The results of the The\u00a02021\u00a0Public Health\u00a0Workforce Interests and Needs Survey (PH WINS), conducted between September 2021 and January 2022, are now available.
