Jenai specializes in 19<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0to 21st century French literature, thought, and culture, with focuses on literary decadence and African studies. She is also a creative nonfiction writer and essayist with a master\u2019s in journalism. In addition to teaching various French and writing courses across BU, she has taught English composition and translation at France\u2019s Ecole Normale Sup\u00e9rieure in Lyon. For MISI, Jenai is investigating the history of dance activism in the United States: specifically, the way dance functions as resistance and political protest, particularly for African Americans.
