Advisory Committee
In January 2020, the Coalition for Local Public Health (CLPH) agreed to act as LPHI’s Advisory Committee. CLPH consists of public health organizations dedicated to advocating for the resources needed to promote healthy communities in Massachusetts through strong boards of health and health departments. CLPH organizations represent over 4,900 citizens and professionals interested in supporting the Commonwealth’s local health infrastructure.
CLPH has LPHI business on their agenda approximately three times per year. LPHI will continue to collaborate with MDPH, other training centers, and academic institutions on and training development.
Members of the Advisory Committee:
- Provide expertise and advice on workforce development issues and relevant local health policy matters
- Identify and prioritize training needs
- Review and comment on plans (i.e., communication, marketing, evaluation)
- Help craft a long-term vision
- Identify other potential funding sources and partners
- Provide insight on state and national issues, such as regionalization and agency accreditation
- Represent and promote the LPHI’s programs to the local health community
- Assist LPHI in establishing appropriate partnerships and collaborations with other public health organizations, including the regional Emergency Preparedness Coalition Network
The six CLPH member organizations are:

- Massachusetts Environmental Health Association
- Massachusetts Health Officers Association
- Massachusetts Public Health Association
- Western Massachusetts Public Health Association
