COVID-19 Emergency Public Health Response

The Academic Public Health Volunteer Corps (APHVC) is a program of the Academic Health Department Consortium. The mission of the APHVC is to leverage public health students, alumni, and expert volunteers to augment, amplify, and promote local public health efforts in Massachusetts.

Public health students and professionals can register to become APHVC volunteers. Local public health departments can register to receive APHVC volunteers.

This program is intended for graduate students and is designed to:

Provide students with an opportunity to… gain hands-on professional experience in local public health departments.
Enable local public health departments to… host graduate student interns and gain assistance with pressing projects.
Promote local public health to students… and cultivate an interest in the field early-on in their academic and professional careers.

For over a decade, this program has annually placed public health student interns in local, regional, and state health departments in Massachusetts.
