Webinar: Engaging Community in Change at the Local Level

Selecting and implementing policy, systems, and environmental changes (PSE) is important work to advance health equity. The stakeholders in your community, however, may see change as a friend or an enemy. So how can you help your community welcome PSE changes? With intentional, thoughtful strategies. While there are no fail-proof methods, there are some key tools that can be particularly helpful. Join us to learn about three (ok, maybe four) tools that some Massachusetts communities have been using to move past the status quo with regards to complete streets, healthy food access, and community health improvement plans.

Participants completing this training will be able to

1. Understand the importance of crafting a thoughtful strategy in order to mobilize a community for change.
2. Identify and describe three tools/techniques that they can use in mobilizing their communities.
3. Access resources to help them mobilize their communities.

The webinar is presented by the Community Health Training Institute and will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015, from 12:00pm – 01:45pm.  It will also be repeated on 2/11/15
