In addition to providing technology services for the University, IS&amp;T crafts and manages standalone and WordPress-supported applications that organize, interface with, and output private and public data and professional information throughout BU&#8217;s digital ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To be familiar with the plugins that integrate with it: it&#8217;s <strong>strongly<\/strong> <em><strong>encouraged<\/strong><\/em> that you read up on IS&amp;T&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/cccs\/websites\/www\/wordpress\/how-to\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">How-To with WordPress<\/a>. For a more engaging experience, you can also sign up for any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/about\/training\/classroom\/web\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WordPress Training sessions<\/a> (subject to availability) and may help if you&#8217;re more of a practice-based visual learner. As for WordPress, there are plenty of resources online.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/tech\/services\/cccs\/websites\/www\/wordpress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"button-secondary\">Read on about WordPress from TechWeb<\/a><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Older, Unrecommended &amp; Discontinued Services<\/h2>\n<h3>Non-WordPress Websites<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In very fringe cases, Responsive Foundation tools can be utilized as a standalone to build and apply to either a blank website or headless CMS. Due to its sensitivity, all maintenance [including copy(!)] is the responsibility of the Lead Designer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They&#8217;re rare, but if ever scoped: it&#8217;s because a project required a more complex experience outside of what a CMS could offer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/marcom-team\/departments\/interactive-design\/what-we-do\/id-offerings\/evergreen-site-process\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"button-secondary\">Custom Website Process<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Flexi &amp; BU Frameworks<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>While they might not need to be analyzed too closely, there are past theme frameworks that some older BU sites have been built upon that still exist out there in the wild.
