Base WordPress Theme Offering
Responsive Framework
Responsive Framework (on its own) is a free, out-of-the-box site for clients to use without needing Interactive Design’s involvement.
It offers 5 color palettes, web fonts, and navigation formats. However, customization is limited.
Clients work directly with IS&T for this option, while we ensure brand compliance.
Client-Centric Offering
Readymade Themes
A set of pre-done site themes for an economical price—tailored for administration, research labs, student-facing, and more contexts.
The process (including digital strategy, content guidance, or photography) is similar to our custom theme projects—with a few caveats:
- Strategy recommendations are limited to the functionality offered by the themes.
- Compatible with most of our plugins, however, the design is pre-done and cannot be changed.

Our most common and valuable project: When a school, department, or a client of Boston University has the budget and seeks a credible, modern design that appeals to prospective audiences, we collaborate to create the site, plugin, or redesign they need.
