Requesting a Deploy

An example of a deploy request workflow. It’s commonly found in the bookmarks section of the #interactive-design Slack channel.

Deployments move QA-tested, review-approved code from a GitHub branch to our production server.

  1. Request deploys in the #interactive-design Slack channel using the deploy request workflow found in the #interactive-design Slack channel bar.
  2. The requestor answers a series of easy questions and can select someone on their project that they’d want to notify. You might select their project’s WordPress Developer (to let them know directly) or Project Manager (to coordinate any changes for a client to see on staging).
  3. The requested deploys are then released in scheduled windows at 11 am and 2 pm, Monday–Friday (with exceptions for priority projects if notice is provided from an Associate Creative Director).
