University vs BU Today Events Calendar

University Calendar Application

This is BU’s primary calendar system, used across schools, departments, and centers. Calendars can share events with each other and feed into the main University Calendar. Our plugins and framework fully support this system—it’s what we design for.

BU Today Events Calendar

This is a separate, externally hosted calendar (via Localist), used only by BU Today. Some events are pulled in from the main calendar, and some stakeholders manually add events here for extra visibility. We do not support or integrate this system into our projects.

Key Points:

  • Events for websites must use the University Calendar.

  • Events featured on BU Today need to be entered in both calendars.

  • We have no plans to support Localist integrations.
