Online learning platform edX offers a variety of courses, programs, and degrees from more than 200 institutions, including Boston University. Take courses in editing, writing, leadership, and more. The courses offered at any one time may vary.

Outside Organizations

We use Adobe for marking up print proofs. The Adobe website provides a quick refresher on how to mark up pdfs using their tools. Or view this video for a helpful overview.

The Society for Editing (ACES) offers information, training courses and modules, in-person and virtual conferences, and a virtual community of other editing, copy editing, and proofreading professionals.

The global nonprofit Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) is dedicated to educational advancement—alumni relations, communications, development, marketing, and advancement services. CASE offers a variety of professional development opportunities, including online learning opportunities and online and in-person conferences.

The Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading is the UK’s only chartered professional body dedicated to editing and proofreading, a nonprofit promoting excellence in English language editing.
