However, considering the large isoprenoid pool size (> 30,000 isoprenoids in plants alone), only a small portion has been evaluated for their biological activites, especially for those low natural abundance isoprenoids or unstable isoprenoids.   Research in this sub-area is devoted to generate a natural product library with thousands of isoprenoids with special emphasis on the low natural abundance isoprenoids.   Their biologically activity will be evaluated using cell-based high-through put assays.
