This project aims to develop a computerized adaptive test to measure community participation for individuals who have sustained a TBI. The work is based out of Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital (SRH) and involves ongoing collaboration with <\/span>Spaulding\u2019s Neurorehabilitation lab.<\/a><\/p>\n

LeaRRn Learning Scholar Program<\/h2>\n

As a 2023 LeaRRn<\/a> Learning Health System (LHS) Scholar, Dr. Evans will partner with Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital to identify a health system priority and in collaboration develop a proposal for continued LHS work.<\/p>\n

LeaRRn Studies<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. The relationship between length of stay and fall risk in patients with stroke and acquired brain injury (ABI).\n
      \n
    • Project Purpose: Investigate the relationship between LoS and achieving low-risk fall status after Stroke or ABI.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • High-intensity gait training (HIGT) with patients with acquired brain injury.\n
        \n
      • Project Purpose: Effectiveness of HIGT in a real-life setting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • Acquired brain injury responsive physical therapy measures.\n
          \n
        • Project Purpose: Evaluation of floor effects of the core six outcome measures for patients with ABI in inpatient rehabilitation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
        • Implementation of American Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy (ANPT) Core Outcome Measure Clinical Practice Guideline in Inpatient Brain Injury Rehabilitation at Spaulding.\n
            \n
          • Project will be presented as a Symposia at ACRM 2024 Conference.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Learning Health Systems Training to Improve Disability and Chronic Condition Care (LeaHD)
            \nLHS Scientist Program<\/h2>\n

            \"\"<\/p>\n

            LeaHD\u2019s mission is to train scientists in learning health systems research to improve the health-related quality of life of persons with disability and chronic conditions by addressing inequities in access to and quality of rehabilitation and long term services and supports. As a LeaHD LHS Scientist, Dr. Evans is conducting a project related to implementing a mobility program with a special focus on patient and family engagement and education.<\/p>\n
