The LIBRE project is a collaboration between the Boston University School of Public Health’s Department of Health Law, Policy and Management, the Boston-Harvard Burn Injury Model System and the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors.<\/p>\n

The Boston University School of Public Health aims to improve the health of local, national and international populations, particularly the disadvantaged, under-served and vulnerable, through excellence and innovation in education, research and service. LIBRE is housed within the Department of Health Policy and Management which has one of the largest health services research programs in the country. The research agenda of the department focuses on: health economics, health quality assessment, health outcomes measurement and health management research.<\/p>\n

Boston-Harvard Burn Injury Model System (BH-BIMS)<\/a><\/h3>\n

BH-BIMS is a collaborative research effort between Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital and Shriners Hospital for Children – Boston to improve care for burn survivors. The mission of the burn programs at Shriners, MGH, and SRH is to promote excellence in patient care, education, and research.\u00a0 The BH-BIMS is one of four sites that has been awarded a national grant for research from the National Institute of Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR).<\/p>\n

The Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors<\/a><\/h3>\n

The Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors is the leading national nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering anyone affected by a burn injury through peer support, education, and advocacy.\u00a0For more than 30 years the Society has partnered with survivors, families, health care professionals, burn centers and the fire industry to support recovery, improve the quality of burn care and prevent burn injury. Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan the Society is committed to advancing recovery resources, providing environments to renew the spirit and to supporting a positive return to life.<\/p>\n
