Dr. Kazis conducts research projects for the Centers for Disease control (CDC) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) in the area of quality of care and patient reported outcomes. She is also herself a burn survivor who prior to her role at the Phoenix Society worked for 13 years as a burn nurse and manager. She has been very involved in the American Burn Association (ABA) serving on several committees.
