As we come to the end of our funding through NIDILRR, we are pleased that the LIBRE Profile will continue!<\/p>\n<p>The original funding support carried us through <span><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/libre\/2018\/06\/27\/tracking-the-road-toward-recovery\/\">many phases<\/a><\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establishing a conceptual framework<\/li>\n<li>Developing items (questions)<\/li>\n<li>Field testing with 601 burn survivors<\/li>\n<li>Calibration and LIBRE Profile development, including Computerized Adaptive Test and short forms<\/li>\n<li>Assessing reliability and validity<\/li>\n<li>Developing score reports and stages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This project has increased awareness of the impact of burn injury on social participation through nine published papers, dozens of presentations nationally and internationally, <span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCeK3Of3oeMAbHFGPqk-fwVA\/videos?sort=dd&amp;view=0&amp;shelf_id=0\">videos<\/a><\/span>, and countless conversations. Most importantly, this project has made a difference in the lives of burn survivors and those who care about them by creating a new tool to measure social participation and track the recovery process.<\/p>\n<p>We have so many people and organizations to thank! <strong>THANK YOU<\/strong> to the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors, the Boston-Harvard Burn Injury Model System, Burn Survivors of New England, BU\u2019s AdLab and Software Application and Innovation Lab (SAIL), our clinical advisory board members, burn injury centers, clinicians, allied health professionals, researchers around the country, and, above all, to burn survivors who shared experiences, gave time and energy, and made this project possible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">The LIBRE Profile is an innovative\u00a0tool for measuring a return to life after burn injury.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Attempting to return to everyday life after a burn injury can be difficult, stressful, and emotionally challenging.\u00a0 While traditional rehabilitation strategies for burn survivors focus on physical recovery, LIBRE focuses on the impact burn injuries have on social life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">LIBRE Profile is a computer-based questionnaire. The tool will be used by burn survivors and clinicians to track an individual\u2019s burn recovery, improve rehabilitation efforts and identify areas where additional support is needed.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">What is unique about this questionnaire is that it is:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">specific to people with burn injuries<a href=\"\/libre\/files\/2014\/05\/Circle-Burn-Survivor-Photo.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/libre\/files\/2014\/05\/Circle-Burn-Survivor-Photo.png\" alt=\"Circle Burn Survivor Photo\" class=\"size-full wp-image-31 alignright\" height=\"134\" width=\"143\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">tailored to the individual<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">focused on the social impact of burn injury<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">LIBRE Project is a community.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Throughout the course of this project, we aim to build a community of people interested in improving the recovery process for burn survivors.
