The LAVA Lab allows students to gain hands-on experience on all aspects of designing studies, collecting data, coding and analyzing, and presenting results at talks and conferences. \u00a0We are a diverse team, and invite students from all backgrounds and academic majors. \u00a0We strive to pair students with projects that fit their interests.<\/p>\n<p>We accept applications from interested students at all levels&#8211;undergraduates, MA, and EdD\/PhD students, as well as post-docs. \u00a0Applicants should be either proficient in ASL or actively learning ASL. \u00a0Experience with video coding using ELAN and video editing with Final Cut Pro is a plus.<\/p>\n<p>Undergraduate students can apply for UROP awards and can choose whether to receive independent study units. \u00a0Occasionally we have paid positions for undergraduates as well. \u00a0 Graduate students are paid either hourly or by semester.<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested in joining the Language Acquisition and Visual Attention Lab or want to find out more, please <a href=\"alieber@bu.edu\">contact us!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Apply now!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Student Testimonials\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Working in this lab gave me a taste of the research world and the experience I could apply to my own future research, perhaps.&#8221;<\/em> -Conrad Baer, MA in Deaf Education &#8217;19<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Working for the lab is a great way to experience working on research studies related to some aspects of language acquisition of deaf children, especially as you take related classes;
