Start date is flexible.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The postdoc will conduct research on development and implementation of biomechanically informed interventions for knee osteoarthritis. These projects include the use of quantitative musculoskeletal imaging techniques, wearables, and mobile health technologies for evaluating outcomes of these interventions. Additionally, the postdoc would have opportunities to participate in secondary analyses using large datasets from people with osteoarthritis in collaboration with the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/clinepi\/\" target=\"_blank\">Clinical Epidemiology Research &amp; Training Unit<\/a><span>\u00a0at the BU School of Medicine. Successful candidate will work in a trans-disciplinary environment that includes physical therapists, rheumatologists, radiologists, clinical psychologists, and engineers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The position is available for two years with possibility for extension contingent on satisfactory progress and availability of funding. Successful candidate would be expected to contribute to data collection and analyses, regulatory support, and developing novel areas of research interest. They would also assist with mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. The candidate should be strongly motivated to publish scholarly papers and will be encouraged to pursue grant funding opportunities if available.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Applicants must have a doctorate in biomechanics or related fields with experience in clinical research with human subjects and a strong statistics background. Having one or more of these additional skills would be highly desirable \u2013physical therapy, quantitative musculoskeletal MR imaging, musculoskeletal joint modeling, wearables\/mobile health technologies, clinical trials, epidemiology.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The lab is equipped with a 3-D motion capture system, multiple force platforms, wireless EMG system, IMU devices, and a strength testing dynamometer for the study of biomechanics. Additional resources used in research projects include a research-dedicated 3.0 Tesla MRI, software developers for mobile health applications, and resources from the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ctsi\/\" target=\"_blank\">BU CTSI<\/a><span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Interested applicants should send their detailed CV, cover letter describing fit with the position and research goals, copies of up to 3 publications, and contact information for 3 references.
