Patient Advisory Committee

What is a Patient Advisory Committee?

The patient advisory committee is comprised of former breast cancer patients and is a vital initiative that will bring patients to the forefront of our research efforts. We believe that the most impactful research is driven by thoughtful collaborations of clinical expertise in the clinic, cutting edge laboratory research, and advice from those who understand the lived experience of breast cancer. Crucially, we focus on the health inequities faced by women of color, and particularly Black women, who face disproportionally worse outcomes from breast cancer treatment.

We see a need and opportunity to ensure that we make a bridge between the research and the community. In other words, ensuring that the science and those who stand to benefit the most from it are connected. Together, we hope to amplify our outreach and spread the word about our mission, increase public awareness about breast cancer research, and provide the community an opportunity to engage with us and help drive our initiatives.
