I am also a member of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/systems\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Center for Information and Systems Engineering (CISE)<\/a>, and a faculty affiliate of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/hic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rafik B. Hariri Institute for Computing and Computational Science &amp; Engineering<\/a>. My current research interests center around (more details on my <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/scholar.google.com\/citations?user=8YSC1isAAAAJ\" title=\"J. Konrad Google Scholar profile\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Google Scholar profile<\/a>):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><strong>computer vision<\/strong><\/em> (recognition of events, clutter analysis, human-computer interfaces),<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>visual sensor networks<\/strong><\/em> (fisheye camera networks, sensing at extremely low resolutions),<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>cybersecurity<\/strong><\/em> (user authentication for natural user interfaces, visual privacy),<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>stereoscopic and 3-D imaging<\/strong><\/em> (2D-to-3D conversion, biomedical applications),<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>image and video processing<\/strong><\/em> (motion analysis, biomedical and social science applications),<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>multidimensional digital signal processing<\/strong><\/em> (sampling theory, irregular sampling).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I am currently a Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the <a href=\"https:\/\/signalprocessingsociety.org\/publications-resources\/ieee-transactions-image-processing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IEEE Transactions on Image Processing<\/a> and an Area Editor for the\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.elsevier.com\/wps\/find\/journaldescription.cws_home\/505651\/description#description\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">EURASIP Signal Processing: Image Communication<\/a>. In the past, I was a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/signalprocessingsociety.org\/professional-development\/distinguished-lecturers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Distinguished Lecturer<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/signalprocessingsociety.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IEEE Signal Processing Society<\/a>, and I served on editorial boards of various journals and I organized a number conferences [<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/jkonrad\/biography\/\">more &#8230;<\/a>].<\/p>\n<p>I have been a consultant for a number of law firms, and among them Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe LLP, New York, NY and Washington, DC;\u00a0Day, Casebeer, Madrid and Batchelder LLP, Cupertino; CA, Kilpatrick Stockton LLP, Atlanta, GA; and Sherr &amp; Nourse PLLC, Herndon, VA.
